What this tool stores

Your answers are saved in your web browser's local storage on this device only. They are not sent to a server as you move through the guide.

If you clear your browser data, use a different device, or use private browsing, your answers will not be there.

Saved answers are automatically cleared after 30 days without activity. You can delete everything at any time from the 'Your information' page.

Consumer health data

Some of what you enter here, questions about breathing, prior surgery, or how you feel about your appearance, may be treated as consumer health data under Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada, Connecticut, Colorado, and Oregon, and as sensitive personal information under California's CCPA/CPRA.

This section must be completed by counsel and must describe collection, use, sharing, retention, and the rights available in each applicable state, including the private right of action in Washington.

Tracking

No advertising pixels and no session-replay tools run on any screen of this guide. That includes Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads conversion tags, LinkedIn Insight, Hotjar, FullStory, Clarity, and LogRocket.

Your answers are never placed in a URL, query string, fragment, or referrer header.

Photographs

This tool does not accept, process, display, or store any photograph of you. No facial geometry is captured, so biometric privacy laws such as Illinois BIPA and Texas CUBI are not implicated by this version.

HIPAA

Using the educational portion of this guide does not create a provider relationship, and that portion is likely not covered by HIPAA. A consultation request submitted to the practice is patient intake and is treated as protected health information.

Counsel must confirm the HIPAA boundary and the business associate agreements covering any hosting, database, or transactional email provider on the submission path.
